A Tree Grows in Kennewick

For some reason my attention was on the outside of the building, and I really just wanted to draw the tree.  I slowly filled in some of the overwhelming details.  I like Nancy's approach...maybe next time.  I totally was impressed with Patty G. and Jim B. getting the whole picture.  They are all so quick and I am painfully slow.  I love the pictures everyone did of The Blank Canvas.  Thanks all!

  1. This is a very interesting 'straight forward' sketch. Things are very accurate and square and straight and it lends itself to a very cold and dreary and bare bones kind of day! I really like all the detail and the perspective is great.

  2. In addition to what Nancy said, I think putting this down on the toned paper helps give it that cold, dreary, kind of bare bones kind of day ambience. I spent quite a bit of time looking it over and find it kind of haunting. Nice work!
